Not All APC Candidates Have Level Playing Field-Muiz Banire

Three-time former commissioner in Lagos State, and chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Muiz Banire has criticized his party for not providing a level playing field for all candidates vying for elective positions in Lagos State.

Banire made this known in an interview granted to Premium Times. Banire who is also the National Legal Adviser spoke on what he referred to as a looming crisis within the state chapter of the APC.

When asked by the paper if the party has provided a level playing field for all candidates vying for the governorship position in Lagos State, Banire said:

“Not all of them have level playing field, but we can make it level. Unfortunately for us, some of our leaders that are supposed to be participants in this process of creating a level playing field are the people that are also trying to also undermine it, that’s the sad thing about it. Because leaders must struggle to create a level playing ground for all of them to go into the contest. But we have seen a situation where resources, collective resources of the people and the party, is being used to mould a particular candidate.”

The former commissioner went as far as giving the name of the candidate when asked to be specific.

“The so called anointed candidate (Akinwunmi Ambode). That’s common knowledge in Lagos.”

  1. Mr Banire sure has sour grapes in his mouth. When the same leaders where making you commissioner when there were better qualified persons,he didn't see it as non-provision of level playing field for the other persons that aspired to be made commissioners. This is pure hypocrisy.Akinwunmi Ambode is amply qualified to be governor and a huge asset to any party he belongs to

  2. All these enemies springing up from within the will truly go a long way to reinforce my resolve to vote for this Akinwunmi Ambode. The simple reason is that none of his detractors and enemies who have come out to speak against his candidacy have given me one cogent reason to convince me that he is not qualified;they are always giving lame excuses like his great grand father is not from Lagos,or they will say he is being supported by Tinubu,I’ve heard some say he is being supported by Oba Akiolu and others said he likes non-Lagosians a lot…..blah blah blah…all very lame reasons as far as I’m concerned. So since it is only this Akinwunmi Ambode that has taken time to engage with the electorate on different for a to market and sell himself,it shows he is very serious and ready, while the other lazy ones are sitting back in their offices and playing one excuse card or the other, hoping they can fool Lagosians. No way
