EPL Clubs To Test Returning African Players For Possible Ebola Virus Disease

English clubs are to carry out Ebola tests on some of their players returning from international matches.

Recall that African players took part in African Nations Cup Qualifiers these past days, and clubs like Newcastle United, Swansea City, and Manchester City are set to carry out the tests as precautionary move.

While speaking about the two African players who play for his club; Newcastle United manager, Allan Pardew said:

“We'd be naive not to have concerns. We have a strategy for when they return and making sure they and their families are taken care of.

“They're essential to us and our doctor has looked into the problems that might arise and also protection for them and to make sure we do our very best to help them,” Pardew was quoted in the Daily Mail.

A spokesman for Swansea City also shared similar believe with the Pardew:

“Out of our players, it is only Bony that has returned from Africa. The club is well aware of the situation, but the doctors are quite relaxed about it.

“He will go through normal fitness checks and medical tests which any player returning from an international game would go through."
