Seun Agagu and Gbenga Adedipe, two
close friends who live at 49, Ijoka Road Dafog, Akure and 12 Arakale Street
Akure, were arrested by officials of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,
NSCDC, Ondo State Command, for allegedly stealing a goat to celebrate birthday.
One of the suspects, who confessed
to the crime, said they wanted to celebrate the birthday of one of them, and
that was why they had to go and steal the goat before they were caught.
The paper also learned that the
owner of the goat raised an alarm when she did not see it that night, which led
to a search after which the goat was discovered where the suspects kept it,
preparatory for slaughter the next day.
The Ondo State Commandant of the
agency, Andrew Igwe Ugwumba, said the suspects would be charged to court for
prosecution after thorough investigation.
