NUC To Charge Fake Professor To Court

Professor Okojie
In bid to sanitize the education sector and rid the system of quacks who go about deceiving the public about their true status, the National Universities Commission NUC has concluded plans to charge one Ambi P.N, who claims to be a professor.

Ambi who claimed to be a professor, with a view to applying for establishment of a private university, would soon be charged to court.

Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission, NUC, Professor Julius Okojie, said this while fielding questions from journalists in Abuja.
Okojie said Ambi, who claimed to be a Professor of Statistics, would appear in court alongside two others also found to be bearing fake academic titles.

He added that investigations into the background of the key actors of the proposed Nigerian British University revealed that they were all fakes.
Okojie also said it was imperative for Federal Government to re-introduce post-graduate training programmes (fellowship) in tertiary institutions in the country.

He said: “What was even more revealing is that the three actors, the chief consultant who was supposed to be a professor, the proprietor who was supposed to be a doctorate degree holder from Divinity School and a lawyer, were all fakes.”
