Police in Akwa Ibom, South-South Nigeria have rescued a
day-old baby buried alive in a shallow grave by the mother.
The baby was rescued alive by the Police at a shallow grave
in Afaha Abia Village of Nsit Ibom Local Government Area. This was made known
by the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, Mr Gabriel Achong, made on
Thursday in Uyo while briefing newsmen on the activities of the command in the
last two months.
The Police Commissioner said the force had arrested the
mother of the boy for attempted infanticide, adding that she was being
investigated.
“Patience on Sept. 14, 2014 did bury her one-day-old baby boy
in a shallow grave. The baby was rescued alive,” Achong said.
May God continue to expose such evil acts being perpetuated
by some heartless individuals.
