Minister of Health, Professor Onyebuchi Christopher, his counterpart
in the Information Ministry, Mr. Labaran Maku, and five others have resigned
their positions as ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This may not be unconnected with their decision to seek
elective offices in the coming general elections in 2015. Professor Onyebuchi
is rumoured to be gunning for the post of the governor of Ebonyi State, South-East
of Nigeria, while Labaran Maku is contesting for that of Nasarawa State.
