Malala Wins The 2014 Nobel Peace Price

Malala and Kailash Satyarthi
Advocate for women education, Malala Yousafzai has been jointly awarded this year’s Nobel Peace Prize. The 17 year old Pakistani who was in Nigeria earlier in the year to visit President Jonathan in Abuja, was almost killed by insurgents in her native country in 2012 while she was travelling home from school.

This year’s award was presented to both Malala and Kailash Satyarthi, an Indian Children’s Rights activist. Both were named winners of £690,000 by the Chairman of Nobel Committee, Thorbjoern Jagland, the former Prime Minister of Norway.
