Devil Dog Mauls 6 Month-Old Baby Girl To Death

The American Pit Bull (Banned In The UK)
An American Pit Bull Dog has been destroyed by the Police in Davaentry, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom for mauling a six month-old baby girl, who later died a result of the gruesome injuries she sustained during the attack.

Under the 1991 Dangerous Dogs Act of Britain, ownership of any breed listed for fear of public safety, such as the one that attacked the little girl was prohibited from being brought to into the country.

The Daily Mail reports that the animal was destroyed last Friday after attacking the baby girl while her grandmother was caring for her; and despite frantic attempts to pry the baby from the dog's jaws, she died as a result of gruesome injuries.

“We can today reveal the outcome of that post mortem has shown the dog was an American pit bull, a prohibited breed under the 1991 Dangerous Dogs Act.

“This continues to be a complex and highly unusual investigation which has required significant resource within Force and drawn on national expertise in the area of dangerous dogs.

“But at the heart of it is a baby girl whose life has tragically been taken away in the most horrific of circumstances,' said Chief Inspector Tom Thompson of Northamptonshire.

An inquest into the infant's death will be held next week.
