CNN Says No To Political Adverts From Nigeria

The Cable News Network, CNN has turned down political adverts from Nigeria, The Cable reports.

A consultant to one of the presidential aspirants running for the 2015 general election told The Cable that CNN has been turning down their requests to place political adverts.

“We approached CNN agents in Nigeria to place some adverts for our principal. We sent the creative to them as requested and they returned them, saying they do not run commercials that are intended to campaign for votes. We could not believe it.”

Responding, an official of the cable television described his company’s decision to turn down political ads as a policy that has nothing to do with Nigeria alone.

“CNN International never accepted political or religious advertising. This is due to Ofcom regulations.

“If you want to promote investment opportunities, etc. That would be fine but nothing to do with politics or the 2015 election,” said Ashley Hogan-Gancarz.
