Boko Haram-Federal Government Confirms Ceasefire

The Federal Government of Nigeria has confirmed stories in the media, which claim that the country had reached a ceasefire with militant group, Boko Haram.

Reports of a ceasefire were all over the media this afternoon, with different media houses claiming an agreement had been reached.

Confirming various reports, especially as it affects the kidnapped Chibok girls, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe on Friday said:

In what could be termed as one of the best news in Nigeria’s move to end terrorism, the military has apprehended a man said to be the brain behind several videos shot and uploaded in YouTube by Islamic sect, Boko Haram.

The culprit, said to be a foreigner was said to have been nabbed with some highly advanced equipment and copies of some of the videos the sect had sent to online media houses on their escapades including that of the abducted Chibok girls, it was gathered.

Military sources disclosed to Vanguard that the computer analyst who is currently being interrogated was responsible for configuring computer images website and internet accesses that enable the group fight media and psychological operations.
