Ebola-Federal Government Says No New Cases In Nigeria

Nigeria's Health Minister
Nigerians can heave a sigh of relief as the Federal Government has announced that there are no new cases of the deadly Ebola Virus Disease in the country.

This was announced by the Health Minister, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu while briefing newsmen after the weekly Federal Executive meeting held at Aso Rock in Abuja Wednesday.

The Minister said the case of the undergraduate student in Ile Ife suspected to have contacted the disease has tested negative, and was subsequently discharged. He also said that the South African Woman who was detained at the Airport on suspicion of having the virus, has also tested negative, and has returned back to her country.

This will come as a welcome relief to Nigerians, but the truth is that caution needs to be taken until the rest of West Africa have been declared free from the virus.
