The authorities of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, OOU Ago
Iwoye Ogun state have ordered the reopening of the institution that was shut
following students’ protests back in August 2014.
Head of Corporate Affairs Division, Vice-Chancellor’s Office
of OOU, Niyi Oduwole, today Sunday September 28 said the reopening was based on
the approval of the university’s governing council.
He said lectures are to start on September, 29, in
continuation of the suspended 2013/2014 academic session.
According to the statement, the Students Union Government SUG
of the school had in 2008 signed an agreement with the then state government to
increase school fees by 20% annually.
